BCA assists to prevent possible electrocution, MP Teo/Taha and Pasir Ris Punggol Town Council ‘bochap’

(HDB residents have been fooled by the govt. We are paying S & CC fees but acting as estate officers by giving town councils feedback. There is hardly any estate officer on the ground. Without public feedback on OBVIOUS issues, PAP town councils are not aware of what’s happening on the ground. Worse, in many cases, they are not even bothered after feedback was provided. Simple issues require the attention of the PMO before they are resolved. Isn’t it foolish for residents to pay S & CC fees to do the job of estate officers? What do you think?)

Dear PM Lee

Re: Thank you BCA, town council should cease estate mismanagement

I refer to my email to the BCA dated 5 July (attached) and would like to thank the BCA for helping to prevent another case of possible electrocution. (ST, 14 June: “Two teens get electric shock from lamp post in Lorong 5 Toa Payoh on Sunday”)

This issue was highlighted about 2 months ago, and recently to MP Teo Chee Hean (no reply from him and town council).  It was only after BCA had been notified that the issue has finally been resolved.

I hope the BCA could also extend its assistance to residents of Bukit Batok estate (see attached email).

EM Services, PR-PTC’s managing agent, should employ qualified property officers who are regularly on the ground; instead of relying on residents’ feedback for obvious issues.

Otherwise, it should be replaced.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Dear CEO Wong

I refer to my email dated 1 July (attached).

The issue of possible electrocution – resulting from town council’s negligence – is not only confined to my estate.

On 2 July, a similar issue in Bukit Batok estate was also highlighted by Dr Chee Soon Juan (images below). link

It is not known if there are similar cases in other housing estates managed by town councils.
Point to note is, in my case, the issue was highlighted almost 2 months ago.

Although this issue warrants urgent attention, the Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council has not taken any action.

It appears that town councillors, including the MP-chairman, have failed to understand the urgency; are possibly idiots.

Two boys have recently been electrocuted in Toa Payoh, now appearsly likely due to negligence.  Will town councils take action only after more residents are electrocuted?

Thank you and have a nice day.

Dear CEO Wong

I refer to my feedback to the government on the issue of possible electrocution at a bridge in Pasir Ris since 12 May.  The Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council (PR-PTC) has neither responded nor taken any action.

These images below speak for themselves

Town councils are autonomous entities, independent of government oversight.  An incompetent/irresponsible town council cannot be replaced; only voted out during an election. But should residents wait for a few years – possibly getting electrocuted – before something is done?

I am hopeful that BCA will be able to assist residents of Pasir Ris by ‘talking some sense’ into my irresponsible town council.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Regards

Phillip Ang
