Subject: 20160529 Minister Lawrence Wong setting bad example for the civil service
Dear PM Lee
I refer to my feedback to MND Minister Lawrence Wong dated 29 Feb 2016 (enclosed). Are ministers serving the public when they do not bother to reply?
Not unlike SMRT, proper maintenance has been sorely lacking in my estate. Why then should residents fund the town council when it is not interested in having a proper maintenance regime? (Regular maintenance is routine in nature and should not require regular public feedback.)
I have been providing feedback since more than a decade ago. How long will this continue to fall on deaf ears?
Minister Wong’s indifference should be regarded as a bad example for the civil service and earns no respect from citizens.
Minister Wong needs to bear in mind that taxpayers are his paymaster and his job is to serve, not act like our master.
Please confirm if MND is interested in public feedback.
Thank you and have a nice day.
