Honest politics demands the return of at least 2 months of PAP MP Charles Chong’s MP allowance

PAP MP Charles Chong was diagnosed with non alcoholic steatohepatitis in 2013. There was a possibility that his condition “could lead to liver cirrhosis where the liver is permanently damaged and no longer able to work properly”. link

If Charles condition degenerates into liver cirrhosis, there was a possibility of death and a by election.

Although Charles was aware that his condition was likely to disrupt his MP duties for a prolonged period, he withheld this material information from voters and ran for election in September 2015. Three months later, he was given a 2-month MC after an operation to treat his liver condition.

Charles’ concealment of his medical condition from the public has no doubt cast doubts on his integrity. This is because taxpayers are now paying him about $500 per day not to serve constituents but recuperate, excluding his 5-figure salary from … another GLC.

With a tarnished reputation, only Charles can help to redeem himself. Honest politics demands the return or donation of at least 30,000 tax dollars by PAP MP Charles Chong.

Steatohepatitis is fatty liver disease in layman’s term. Non-alcoholic fatty liver is caused mainly by unhealthy diet & unhealthy lifestyle. Charles probably eating too much roti prata, murtabak, nasi biryani, curry fish head, wagyu steak, chili crab & lobsters. And spending too much time parking his ass on the sofa of recliner.
