$8 heart bypass minister has continued to engage in propaganda without addressing the real issue of regular MRT major disruptions.
Yesterday, Khaw announced to the world in a FB post that he had given a durian treat to Downtown Line staff, a promise he made 300 days ago. According to Khaw, DTL staff deserve this sort of cheapskate PR for crossing the 300-day disruption free milestone.
Khaw must have his own definition of “disruption free” because, according to “FAILRAIL.sg” in this April TOC article, there were 3 DTL disruptions on 29 Dec, 31 Dec 2015 and 6 Jan 2016.
(In April 2016, Khaw also boasted that “clearing 100 disruption-free days (for NSL) is no mean feat”. Back then, FAILRAIL.sg commented on Khaw’s statement as “disingenuous and misleading” because NSL was in fact not disruption free.)
Perhaps Khaw was referring to the absence of disruptions lasting more than 30 hours and not 30 seconds/minutes? Khaw should clarify his definition of “disruption free” because PAP has a habit of anyhow redefining words to suit itself.
I would suggest to Khaw that if he were sincere, he should hold himself accountable to all MRT/LRT passengers for the inconvenience suffered. For every major disruption in future, Khaw should instead give all affected passengers a durian treat. Don’t engage in such a cheapskate PR stunt la.
