20150121 Why is SMRT investing in shares when our public transport is screwed up?

SMRT seems to have millions in spare change for shares investment. (see chart below)

SMRT is the second largest IFS Capital shareholder.

Since SMRT has additional cash for investment, why not use it to invest in upgrading? Why turn to the government for tax dollars before exhausting idle cash?

What happens if SMRT loses money in its investment? Raise our fares again?

    There was an article that Temasek sponsers $100 million to Rajaratnam Endowment Fun.

    If there are 4million citizens,each one pays $25. NO CHOICE.Why not Temasek send $25 to every

    citizen? Who is next in line for another big endowment fun ?
