Dear MP Sapari

I have written to the PMO on the disrespect accorded to our national flag on a few occasions since 2011. In 2012, the entire government and grassroots members had appeared to be sleeping on this chronic issue. I then wrote to Mr Lee Kuan Yew and had a simple issue resolved the following day. link

Unfortunately, the only photo shown in my email was from a HDB block within your constituency. Despite my feedback having been copied to your town council, you claimed not to be in the loop as you did not receive the original email. link

You initially appeared sincere and I subsequently provided/copied all my feedback (not only on flag issue) to you. You have disappointed after a year.

I cannot understand what kind of grassroots could turn a blind eye to the above for months (probably years because still awaiting feedback) despite the fact that there are more than 30,000 grassroots members/at least 1 per HDB block.

If MP Sapari had implemented my suggestion to conduct regular building facade inspections by the TC, the above grassroots’ ‘mistake’ would have been noticed months ago.

Thank you.

Regards

Phillip Ang
